Restaurant was outdated. Although our server was sweet, she was inattentive, and very slow. Never came back to check on us or refill the small glass of water she gave us. At first I didn't think it was too bad, we had the broccoli cream with chicken and veggie soup, and that was decent. Then the nachos we ordered for an appetizer had finally come out. It was not very appetizing, just some strange yellowish brown microwaved packet cheese over nachos and a small cup of salsa and sour cream on the side. Uck. When the main entrées came out the food was overly salty. Like I said, our waitress never came back to give us any water. And by then I was really annoyed, and it took her FOREVER to bring us our check. Might I add, the restaurant was not busy at all. That's probably what irritated me the most. We asked the waitress what time they were closing and she shrugged her shoulders and said, "I don't know. Whenever..." Ok then...with that being said, after we ate, we ordered 2 whitefish, one parmesian encrusted and one walnut encrusted. We asked her if she could give us our check and we could pay for it and come pick it up later, being that our hotel was next door. She said sure. Next thing we know the owner comes and says, "Now what is happening over here?" (Like we were trying to cause some trouble.) We explained to him that we wanted to pay for everything and come back to pick up the food. We were right next door and we wanted to drop off some things and we would come back to pick up the food. In an annoyed tone he said, "Now you know, in a few minutes we're gonna close the kitchen, so your food is gonna come out real quick, now if you could wait...." We said that was fine. My mom took my son and left and I waited 30 minutes for our food to come out. Do not ask me whyyyy I even bothered to order the to-gos. I'm still asking myself that. -_- Anyways the whitefish we had ordered, my dad got the walnut encrusted and he said the fish was not seasoned, it was just encrusted. I tried my husband's parmesian encrusted whitefish fillet and it was good. Just had some bones here and there. And they both agreed that the gravy that came with the mashed potatoes were too salty. For all that we ordered, it came out to be $80-$90. Not worth the price for the food and dining experience, spend your money somewhere else.

Place was outdated, a little on the dirty side, cold coffee and subpar breakfast. There is defently better options in the area.

Good food, fare and lodging. Rooms recently updated. Across the street from The Arnold Lines to Mackinaw Island. Buy tickets at Arnold Lines night before. Send luggage early in morning to your hotel on island. Go at your convenience.

Best place in town. Great food.. great atmosphere.. Bob and his wife are great people. They made sure we had the best of everything. Clean, very clean restaurant.

Not a good place for breakfast. Very expensive for quality of food received. Biscuits stale, eggs barely warm, and cheese not even melted in omelette. There are better alternatives. Service decent.

Got a taste of the breakfast bar while visiting this past July. The quality of the food is not worth it for the price you pay. All of the "fresh fruit" was clearly from cans, and the scrambled eggs were made from powder. Staff was friendly though.

Absolutely unreal how good this stuff was!! Posted a picture of what My step brother got. Everything was perfect. Totally worth the cost

Come for the incredibly sweet servers, but leave before your food arrives. The portions are ridiculously huge, yet still fail to deliver anything that one would want to eat. Wait, no, the soup was ok. But it might have been from a can. Anyway, there are lots of good restaurants in mackinac city--why not pick one of them?

Stopped here on the way home from the UP over the 4th of July. Good service as stated by other reviewers. Bad food. Wife got a Reuben, which was pretty terrible. I ordered the fish basket. The fish was likely frozen and fried, which is surprising up here. Fries were passable. I don't know the area but assume there's another place conveniently off 75 in the area that would be much better.

Always stop here for breakfast every year. We never go during rush, so the service is good. They have a buffet, but most of is order off the menu. Our 11-yr old loves the French toast and she's picky.
